Envision Solar seeks to provide low-cost, solar-powered micro housing to victims of natural disasters. Can factory-made homes accelerate the rebuilding process in devastated communities?

Envision Solar has formed a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, Environmental Prototype Homes of Tomorrow, Inc., to provide low-cost, solar-powered micro-housing for disaster relief. At first I was going for Haiti and Japan. Then in the last 2 months the need arose for the tornado-ravaged US. So we must start at home first. First is Tuscaloosa, Alabama, followed by Joplin, Missouri, and finally Massachusetts. We have sent FEMA full packages of homes to no avail — not even a return email to acknowledge our efforts. So we must appeal to the private sector. We cannot stand by and wait on FEMA to get it down, we must take matters into our own hands.
