Planet Forward Consortium

Based at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C., Planet Forward teaches and trains students at GW and across the country.

Through the Planet Forward Consortium, students from colleges and universities gain access to our learning modules and workshops, they participate in our events, and they compete in our prestigious annual storytelling contest, Storyfest.

Tell the Stories That Move our Planet

The world doesn’t just need more scientists and policymakers; it needs storytellers who can make the planet’s most pressing challenges — and its most promising solutions — impossible to ignore.

Based at George Washington University, Planet Forward is the premier hub for environmental storytelling. We invite your institution to join our growing network of colleges and universities dedicated to empowering the next generation of climate communicators.

Choose Your Partnership Level

We offer two ways for schools to engage with us, depending on the level of involvement and support that fits your campus best:

  • Consortium Schools: Join our foundational network to gain access to our core storytelling resources. Consortium members participate in national workshops, utilize our learning modules, and empower their students to compete in Storyfest, our annual contest that sends winners on global reporting expeditions.

  • Pillar Schools: As a sustaining partner, Pillar schools receive a more hands-on, personalized relationship with the Planet Forward team, including an opportunity to nominate a correspondent and greater visibility within our national network.

Amplify Student Voices

By joining the Consortium, you give your students a platform to publish their work for am engaged audience and the skills to bridge the gap between science and public action.
