So much of the pollution of our water and public health risks can be traced back to pollution from excess fertilizer application by the agriculture industry.
The human body is made up of 60% water, so why is it that we pay such little mind to this critical natural resource? While water pollution can stem from fossil fuel extraction or Superfund sites, few people know that much of our most detrimental water pollution comes from the agriculture industry. Unregulated fertilizer application by the commercial farming industry continues to degrade our natural ecosystems and pose ever dangerous public health implications.
