Kaua’i Community College has partnered with the local county government to develop an entirely new form of sustainable living center. Students from KCC are currently building a prototype container-based sustainable/affordable home with aquaponics and raised bed food production, an on-site honey producing apiary with varroa mite free bees, vertical wind turbines, PV, gray water and catchment water systems…. All to “insource energy and food production, sustainably.”

Mahalo to Hawaiian Ki Hoʻalu Slack Key Guitar Master, Cyril Pahinui for allowing us to use his beautiful song, He’eia as the music for this video. Find his music on iTunes or visit http://www.cyrilpahinui.com to learn more about him.
