Douglas County Libraries and Sundolier team-up to bring natural daylight in to the library with the latest technology. Whether it’s bringing natural daylight in to a room or providing a sparkling book to a bright child, Douglas County Libraries are another example of our community working together for a sustainable future.

Sundolier aims to provide natural light on a larger scale than traditional sky lights and without the drawbacks of high energy costs or heat issues. By capturing the sun’s light and distributing it using a “sun chandelier,” the system can provide natural light to large areas in a controlled manner. The benefits of natural light are many; studies show that the light increases productivity, students’ grades, retail figures, and, most importantly, the health of room occupants. It also cuts down energy costs produced by other electrical units in the building.
