Rooftop Roots: Helping a Community Grow through its Garden
Rooftop Roots is a local D.C. organization that gives food to residents and visitors at local food banks. Their goal is to reinvest in the local food chain and reconnect people to their food, by harvesting community gardens. They serve hundreds in the community and are a growing empire of local, delicious food. Encouraging a strong community is a priority to creating sustainable cities, and the people in D.C. and Virginia benefit from their hard work. Danielle Baglivo and Sophie Martin also helped with this project.
