Jake is an international development practitioner with a focus on catalyzing change through learning, knowledge sharing, and applied storytelling at iDE (International Development Enterprises). At iDE, Jake leads different innovative storytelling approaches to improve the participation and representation of beneficiaries from different international development projects in a more locally-led process that has the power to influence decision-making and inspire continuous improvement for global projects focused on climate resilience, agriculture, and WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene). Jake is a Planet Forward Alumnus and traveled with Planet Forward to the Galapagos Islands in 2022 as a Storyfest Winner and former Planet Forward Correspondent from the University of Arizona.
Before joining iDE, Jake served as a Peace Corps Food Security Volunteer in Benin, conducted climate resilience research as a Fulbright Fellow with the Wildlife Conservation Society in Cambodia, and played a role in FEMA's response to the COVID-19 crisis and historic 2020 natural disaster season as a Continuous Improvement Advisor. Jake holds a Master's of Development Practice from the University of Arizona and a Bachelor's in Environmental Studies from Washington & Jefferson College.
