ContributorAjani Moss is a senior Chemical Engineering student at Howard University from Nassau, The Bahamas. His career goals focus on renewable and sustainable energy, with an emphasis on developing technologies that support a cleaner and more resilient energy future. His research interests include methane mitigation and valorization, energy storage, and sustainable energy systems. His experience includes modeling methanotrophic bioreactors for converting low-concentration methane to methanol at Howard University and studying ion transport and electrode stability in solid polymer electrolyte battery systems at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
Growing up in The Bahamas, Ajani developed a personal connection to sustainability through the environmental and energy challenges facing island communities. As a Planet Forward Correspondent, he hopes to make environmental science and engineering accessible through engaging storytelling focused on renewable energy, climate adaptation, environmental justice, and sustainable solutions. He plans to attend graduate school and pursue a career in sustainable energy research and development while using science communication to make scientific advances more accessible and promote clean energy solutions that strengthen energy resilience in vulnerable communities.
