SUNY-Plattsburgh

Consortium

SUNY Plattsburgh is on the western shore of Lake Champlain and serves as a gateway to the Adirondacks, one of the largest and oldest protected landscapes in the United States. SUNY Plattsburgh’s environmental curriculum is based upon experiential education, using the exceptional natural resources in our backyard as lab and classroom. We offer degree programs in geology, environmental science, ecology, environmental planning and management, and environmental studies.

SUNY Plattsburgh’s signature sustainability program is its Green Fee grants program. All students contribute $3 to the green fund, which affords students the opportunity to write grant proposals to fund sustainability projects on campus. Recent projects include community gardens, bikability programming, film series and guest speakers.
