UNSW PhD candidate Andrea Wechsler takes by-products from the forestry industry to make particle boards that can be used in kitchens, bathrooms and decking around pools. Not only do they have great moisture resistance, they dramatically reduce the formaldehyde emissions associated with traditional particle boards. They also smell terrific!
