By creating symbiotic relationships with other nations, especially our neighbors, the United States can begin using hydroelectric power efficiently as a means of moving away from our oil dependency. Canada and the United States have a complementary power markets – Canadian demand for electricity is high during the winter months for heating, and U.S. demand is high in the summer months for cooling. With proper policy and investment, this natural partnership can do great things for the hydroelectric industry.
