Siblings, Teresa and Lorenzo Guerra explain how they manage their family farm in the midst of a historic drought. As third-generation farmers, they worry about how they will be able to maintain family traditions and feed their community in Southern New Mexico. In this photo essay, Teresa and Lorenzo Guerra explain that many farms in New Mexico are at risk of economic despair due to crop failure, water scarcity, and groundwater salt contamination. Despite these challenges, the siblings will continue to run their family farm as it is a labor of love.
