Growing up in the Adirondack mountains of upstate New York, the wilderness was my backyard. I had no idea how lucky I was and how few people get to experience what I could simply by walking out my door. I feel that I owe those hills for everything they gave me. Exploration. Lessons learned both the easy and the hard way. Memories. I could never repay all of the gifts, but I hope that by sharing their story, my story, the stories of those helping to keep it, that I can share those gifts with others so they can experience a piece of what I did. Maybe then they will see what I do; a land worth keeping whole and healthy.
