Few kids at the age of 12 know what they want to be when they grow up. For me, a simple homework assignment in the 7th grade turned me to the journalism world — and I’ve never looked back.
Throughout my career as a student journalist, I have constantly advocated for the millennial generation’s voice to be connected and heard. Over the past year, I have invested a great deal of my time exploring social justice issues on a local, national and international level. From the tension between law enforcement and black and brown communities to access to women’s healthcare in third world countries to the contamination of water in a small town in Michigan, my passion is to report on the stories that matter to our world. Through my discovery of these topics, my writing skills have grown, where I am able to write and report on the issues that often don’t make the everyday news or is silenced by others. I believe it is important to share my passion and shed light on the important stories that are often overlooked on a day-to-day basis.
My byline has been featured in a variety of news publications, including the State Press ASU, The Arizona Republic/azcentral.com, The Arizona Capitol Times, USA Today, and POLITICO.
If I'm not hunched over my laptop at a local coffee shop or frantically running around Phoenix trying to make my deadline, you can find me exploring new restaurants, taking trips to Sedona, thrifting or creating a new vegetarian recipe in my kitchen.
