Maizy Ludden

Syracuse University

Contributor

Maizy is a junior majoring in Biology and Geography at Syracuse University (SU), but her interests resist being defined by any one field of study.  Her passion lies in exploring and understanding the relationships between humans and the environment, and she is committed to inspiring others to find their own connections with the natural world.  Fascinated by the diversity of human and non-human life on Earth, Maizy believes that enabling others to learn about this diversity and engage with the world around them requires effective storytelling.  Through writing and other creative work, she hopes to rekindle environmental awareness in today's youth and help society redevelop attitudes of environmental concern and stewardship.  She is especially inspired by the traditional relationship between indigenous peoples and the environment and her goal is to empower indigenous people to tell their stories to the world.

When she is not running between classes on the SU campus, you might catch her (still running) on local trails, plotting her next cross-country road trip, or reading a good book in a rare spot of Syracuse sunshine.
