I am a Texas Tech graduate student and freelance photographer based in Lubbock, Texas. I developed an interest in photography at an early age. Spending much of my life outdoors hiking, cycling, hunting, fishing, and traveling with my family and friends, I gained an appreciation of the beauty in the natural world.
Growing up my information about the world around me initially came from images. Powerful ones like those from 9/11, the explosion of the space shuttle Columbia, the invasion of Iraq, and much more. Images told me the stories I had a hard time reading. I am Dyslexic and reading was a challenge until I was nine. I consider Dyslexia a gift that has given me a unique perspective into photography and a special appreciation for photojournalism.
