ContributorHello! Thanks for checking in. My name is Calyn and I am one of the three GW Latin American and Hemispheric Studies graduate students writing for the Explorers in Guatemala blog.
I am originally from Massachusetts. I completed my undergrad studies in finance and economics in Ohio. I lived in Argentina before entering graduate school. I am focusing my efforts on economic development and finance. More specifically, the web of: trade, agricultura, finance, and policy.
Malnutrition is one of society's most challenging social and economic issues. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to examine the Guatemalan Government's latest and most innovative attempt at combating domestic malnutrition (the fourth highest chronic child malnutrition rate in the world!). I cannot wait to travel to Guatemala in March to perform our research, meanwhile sharing our experience and findings with the Planet Forward community!
