Alana Siegner

Alana Siegner is a current Master's student in the UC Berkeley Energy and Resources Group (ERG). Her research interests include food systems, climate literacy and education. She is also part of a graduate student team working to design and build a net-zero tiny house for the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) Tiny House Competition in fall 2016. For this project, she is designing a household-scale aquaponics and food production system, including compost, water recycling, and greywater treatment on-site. Prior to arriving at ERG, Alana served as an AmeriCorps National Teaching Fellow with Citizen Schools, teaching 8th grade enrichment classes at a public middle school in Boston. Her undergraduate degree is from Tufts University (BA '12), where she majored in Environmental Studies and International Relations.
