I am a senior at The George Washington University studying Journalism and Mass Communications and minoring in Sustainability. I grew up spending my summers on Long Beach Island, New Jersey, where I developed a love for ocean conservation. I have been avidly learning about the environment since I was little (and have a homemade "almanac" of rainforest creatures to prove it!) The Planet Forward program at GW and the Ocean Portal project at the Smithsonian have inspired me to tell the stories of the world around me. We should care about the environment because soon there'll be more plastic than fish in the ocean. After I graduate, I want to continue to communicate science and educate the general public. I hope to tie together my love of storytelling and science. You gotta see this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q3F1y4xXFXY
