I'm an environmental journalist working on my undergraduate journalism and religious studies degree; while also beginning my master's in science journalism. When I moved from Georgia to Flagstaff, AZ during middle school I experienced a miracle (for lack of a better word). Before Flagstaff, I had severe asthma and was constantly going to the doctor for illnesses. After moving to Flagstaff, my mom and I saw an immediate change in my health. Living by the peaks, I was able to hike, run, and play soccer with my friends without my inhaler. I only visited the doctor for regular checkups.

My life had completely changed because of the environment I inhabited. This has become the driving force in my decision to become an environmental journalist. I want to enhance the relationship humans have to nature through the goal of educating the public about environmental topics.
