ReClam the Bay is a nonprofit organization that took initiative to heal the bays of southern New Jersey with shellfish. They have been using clams and oysters to revive bays by replenishing the declining shellfish population. These clams are filter feeders that naturally filter the excess nutrients that pollute the bay and causes eutrophication. ReClam the Bay works with local volunteers to raise, monitor, and release clams in addition to providing education to students of all ages to promote environmental stewardship.
