Azalia Harvey-Leo, from Kayenta Arizona, developed her passion for agriculture, leadership, and advocacy through livestock showing and agricultural education with Monument Valley FFA. She is currently attending Diné College pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, where she continues building her passion for food sovereignty and Native agriculture. During her five years in the National FFA Organization, Azalia strengthened her leadership, public speaking, and service skills before serving as a 2024-2025 Arizona FFA State Officer, advocating for agricultural education and opportunities for youth across the state. She has also worked alongside organizations such as the Intertribal Agriculture Council and the Native American Agriculture Fund to support Native agriculture initiatives and youth engagement. Looking toward the future, she currently serves on the Intertribal Ag Council NYAC Navajo Region, where her current project is establishing “Four Directions Agriculture Initiative,” a nonprofit dedicated to serving the Navajo Nation through agricultural education, community outreach, and opportunities for future generations in agriculture.
