Dana Preston

ContributorDana is a second year MA student in Latin American and Hemispheric Studies and is specializing in gender and development. She’s interested in working towards women's and girls' empowerment in the region. Most recently, Dana spent 10 weeks in the Dominican Republic working with a local NGO on issues of gender-based violence. Currently, Dana is an intern at the Inter-American Foundation and is conducting an independent report on best practices in agroecology throughout the region. The report includes a focused gender perspective that has revealed rich links between women's empowerment, environmental restoration, and food security. Dana has over 7 years of combined academic and professional experience in Latin America and the Caribbean. She is fluent in Spanish and learning Portuguese.
