When you ask everybody’s opinion, you get so much, often incorrect information, that you get a situation where you can not see the forest because of the trees.
As an academic institution, I suggest you initiate a matrix evaluation program that in summaries represents all the potential energy solutions, so when you deal with an alternative energy source, you can learn all its advantages, disadvantages and hopefully establish cost/benefit ratios. A setup similar to Wikipedia, which you could call Energypedia.
Now the energy problems have become a reality show on TV, which may entertain the general public, but will not help solve the problems we will face in the future.
