EESI visits the 2011 U.S. Department of Energy’s Solar Decathlon. Participating teams from universities in the U.S., China, Canada, Belgium and New Zealand presented their designs for net-zero energy homes – homes that produce as much energy as they consume over the course of the a year. Entries were evaluated based on design, consumer appeal and affordability.
