As president of the American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE), Vice Admiral Dennis McGinn (Ret.) is a strong advocate for innovative government policy, public and private partnerships, and investments that will promote clean energy growth.
At the GW Moving the Planet Forward Innovation Summit on April 17, 2012, Admiral McGinn participated in a panel discussing the future of the renewable industry and Planet Forward was able to catch up him backstage.
Admiral McGinn believes that the greatest innovation has been the way that different types of renewable energy are being deployed. He says that the time to move forward in creating a “21st century clean energy portfolio” is now.

Investors are staying away from clean energy until hydrocarbon based energy or nuclear , etc becomes too uneconomical to maintain which may never happen. One of the reasons is that hydrocarbon producers are so profitable and are still able to pass along rising costs to consumers. Investors couldnt care any less about the abundance or lack of in hydrocarbon assets as profits is stil there too good to pass up. We still dangerously park trillons of dollars there while hardly a few billons in clean energy. All they need to do is just sell a few shares in hydrocarbons and move over to clean energy and see what will happen. I only wish that we people are as excited about clean energy as we are about Pricelline, Chipolte, Amazon, among other hot investments. We are not exactly so. This is the real problem!!

One has to be a “visionary” to understand exactly what we should do about our economy, so it is so understandable how people reacts differently to clean energy issues and things around it. Some people doesnt tend to approach problems with constructive means as they rather take flight to better opporunitities regardlessly. They are assuming that the rest of us will take care of the problems for them until they see better times to invest back here. Hypocrites abound..

I was placing an array of mirrors on a row so to bounce back sunlight through my large sliding glass doors in a concentrated fashion of about 10X. It heat up the room instantly and the heated air spread out into the hall and other rooms. I know that I got the right idea about heating a home with sunlight because once I fashion an automatic suntracking mechanism that can guide the mirrors constantly through the windows, it will even be much effective. I lose a lot of sunlight between the hourly intervals I go out to realign my mirrors as the sun sails across the sky. The solar engineers use mirrors or heliostats only to generate electricity but none of them do anything about space heating.. I dont understand why they dont even bother to.. There is several funny videos about guys using empty beer cans to capture sunlight for space heating at Youtube.com.
