This is great. I drive a 2006 Toyota Prius. I get between 46 and 50 miles per gallon average between fillups. I am surprised that Toyota and other manufacturers have not gone to diesel technology. I have heard of a plug in car that uses a small diesel engine to recharge the battery. I like the idea of a silicon based filter but I wonder about replacement. Is there some lower tech way of doing the same thing? What would be a method of recycling/rejuvenating the old units?
How about using other fuel sources? I have heard that there are ways of converting trash to diesel fuel. If true, this would be much better than growing crops to make fuel.
I think diesel’s time has come. Now all we need is to provide more fueling stations. The entrenched gasoline manufacturers are not going to like this.
