  1. @Joseph – The X-Prize teams are doing amazing things on tight budgets. 100 MPG is a lofty goal. To hit that with a gasoline engine would haven almost unthinkable a few years back. Focus on developing a small displacement engine and find a builder with a lightweight and extremely aerodynamic body?
