Mini-residential Wind Power

Placing one or more unobtrusive small wind generating devices on the roof of a garage or any building to turn only when there is wind power to compress air to be used later seems reasonable to me. Air compressors are common in garages where compressed air is used to power lug wrenches to remove a vehicle tire and, with proper size tanks could be used residentially. When the wind blows air pressure could be saved for when necessary to be used when needed. The number and size of tanks would be detremined by need.

  1. The problem using a wind generator to run an air compresser would be the starting current required to start the compressor. this would requiire a very large wind generator..Storing power in batteries is the best way to go..large amounts of of power can be obtained from the batteries after they are charged over time
    utilizing a small wind generator.

  2. what if we use the wind power for a local house… i mean does it have to be placed (applied) in windy area to generate enough and efficient power and meets a house hold power consumption?

  3. You do not need to add an extra step into the cycle by generating electricity. Simply use the wind turbine to turn a multi stage air compressor directly It does not have to run very fast , just run continuiously. If you use a large high pressure resivoir you cancharge smaller tanks and turn air engines in your car etc.
