The EarthCo Megablock process maximizes energy and resource efficiency to turn local earth into strong, affordable, healthy structures.

We represent a new paradigm for the construction industry which is the largest consumer of energy and resources on the planet. Traditionally we harvest and mine raw materials from distance sources then ship to manufacturing centers which can be hundreds of miles from the source. The resulting building products are then shipped to distribution centers for further shipment to the actual job site. With my technology we take our manufacturing plant to the job site where we turn local earthen material, the worlds most abundant building resource, into giant modular units that are immediately placed into a structural system using mechanical equipment. My system reduces shipping costs to the bare minimum and features the lowest embodied energy costs of any manufactured product/building system in the world.

Our massive earthen walls are extremely strong to resist the increasingly violent weather associated with climate change. And our massive wall systems give the structure superior thermal mass that mitigates outside temperature changes naturally to keep the structure cool in the summer and warm in the winter. This feature can save up to 90% of the energy normally required to heat and cool our buildings. My structures also don’t burn, do not rot or support mold growth, are very resistant to insect and rodent infestation, and feature a closed loop material cycle as earth is infinitely recyclable. My mechanized manufacturing and production process is not limited by human physical capability so production potential is huge and easily maintained because machines do not get tired. I believe this system to be the worlds fastest construction method as we are capable of going from a raw material to a building product that is placed into a structural system in only a few minutes. 1. Interesting idea, but earthquake hazard, uncontrolled gas and aerosols release, that may drastically affect the health of the habitants…
It is good for outdoor building as fences, terraces, where does not change the gas composition compared to ground releases…
See the book Challenges of the future, a fork in the road to learn more about the potential uses of this technology.
    With regards

  2. I beg to disagree. If EarthCo Megablock walls are built as per ASTM-2392 standard for earthen wall construction then our massive wall thickness combined with the reinforcement provided by ASMT-2392 produces a wall system capable of surviving most Richter 8 earthquakes and EF4 tornadoes with only minor structural damage. And ventilation is the key to providing for indoor air quality in extremely tight building envelopes such as provided by the EarthCo Megablock wall system. We always recommend an air infiltration system to provide a constant flow of fresh air entering the home. Usually we recommend an underground air induction system with roof vents to allow rising (warm) air to exhaust naturally without need for mechanical systems. An air infiltration system should negate any natural gas or VOC release either from cleaning products or other manmade materials which were brought into the home, and should also take care of any radon gas if it were to be a problem. In fact, in the last 20 years numberous earthen homes have been constructed for people with severe chemical sensitivities as these home have proven to provide the best indoor air quality with the least amount of exposure to air borne chemicals. Additionally earthen homes naturally breathe to regulate air humidity levels, adsorbing water vapor during times of high humidity and releasing water vapor during times of low humidity. Combine this fact with the fact that earthen walls do not support mold growth; it is exceedingly rare for an earthen home to have a problem with mold or mildew, unlike conventional construction where mold is a current plague. The fact is we have failed to learn from severe weather events like Katrina or the recent tornado outbreak and we continue to built with inferior methods that result in loss of life. And an endless cycle of cleanup and disposal of millions of tons of construction debris which costs $billions and is a huge waste of natural resources. This is one of earthen construction strong points, Earth is infinitely recyclable so even if mother nature succeeds in destroying an EarthCo Megablock home, all the earthen material can easily be recycled with no earthen material going to a landfill. We therefore believe that the EarthCo Megablock process to be a superior construction methodology with the capacity to produce stronger, healthier and more affordable homes than any current building technology.

  3. I wouldn’t use underground air cooling tubes unless you have some way to and clean them often as the cool causes water to form, thus mold, fugus, legionaire’s, etc.

I like the design and it should work very well. Certainly better than a lot out there.
