Clean Parking Power in the Climate Leadership Awards

This week, Planet Forward is highlighting more of the finalists in Second Nature’s Climate Leadership Awards.

Although all very different, what do these school’s all have in common? They’re producing lean technology to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through transportation!  From reducing their overall car use to building solar panels in parking lots, these five colleges and universities are dedicated to making their campuses drive as efficiently and as eco-friendly as possible.

You can see all of the finalists for this week and the previous and vote for your favorite on Planet Forward. The school with the most votes will be featured in our upcoming conference.

  1. As all of these entries are exciting for the future of reducing greenhouse gases and carbon emissions, but, we have a product that is the only patent, proven and tested product on the market globally to eliminate oil fouling on the inside of the coils in HVAC systems. Not only would these campuses save kWh, reduce their carbon footprint for the environment, save up to 30% on their maintenance costs, but their electric bills could be reduced within 4 weeks up to 15% and this one time application would last for the life of their equipment. HVAC electric costs represent the largest portion of an organization’s electric bill. PermaFrost has an exceptional ROI, typically 9 – 15 months, making it the most profitable investment a company can make in sustainable technology. For example, a $500K investment in PermaFrost implementation would save an organization approximately $2 million to $3.3 million over 5 years on kW savings alone. The PermaFrost product line restores lost efficiency allowing the equipment to run 20 to 30 percent less. Our customers are enjoying a substantial reduction in maintenance costs. The replacement cost of new equipment is expensive. Our product extends the life cycle of equipment up to 30%, as it contains seal and bearing conditioners as well as, the elimination of the oil fouling. This allows companies to postpone additional capital expenditures for new equipment. Sustainability is a social responsibility. A PermaFrost implementation reduces kWh consumption resulting in less CO2 emissions and reduces your carbon footprint. It is a great opportunity for an organization to create marketing assets that are socially conscious and sustainable. Although the greatest benefit is the financial proposition, operating a sustainable organization and reducing the worlds CO2 emissions is simply the right thing to do.
