Dependent on technology developed over 100 years ago, our energy grid is in trouble. Consumption is increasing dramatically, and the construction of our power lines has fallen far behind, setting the stage for more serious and frequent blackouts in the coming years. Video by Eileen Mignoni

  1. Good news is you can help the GRID used by all of us. Use less energy on peak and shift your use to off peak.

The GRID has lots of excess energy off peak at night. They can’t shut down or ramp down a COAL 51% of GRID power, Nuclear 20%, or even Hydro 12% so they actually dump power off peak at night. By shifting your use, even if you aren’t on a Time Of Day billing plan you can help everyone !
